    Ecstatic Monkey Reading Series at Modern Times Bookstore presents:

    Poet and Novelist Kim Addonizio

    with Ecstatic Monkey members
    John Cleary and Jaime Robles

    Kim Addonizio's debut novel, Little Beauties, was described by O
    magazine as "a wonderfully optimistic, quirky testament to the power
    of chance encounters" and was chosen as a Best Novel of the Month by
    Book of the Month Club. Addonizio's several books of poetry include
    Tell Me, a finalist for both the National Book Award and PEN USA West
    Book Award; and most recently What Is This Thing Called Love. With
    Dorianne Laux, she co-authored The Poet's Companion: A Guide to the
    Pleasures of Writing Poetry. She has also published a book of stories,
    In the Box Called Pleasure, and co-edited an anthology about tattoos,
    Dorothy Parker's Elbow. Her awards include two NEA Fellowships, a
    Pushcart Prize, and Guggenheim Fellowship.

    John Cleary is a graduate of the MFA Creative Writing Program at San
    Francisco State University. He has recently been published in New
    Standards: The First Decade of Fiction at 14 Hills, Sidebrow and The
    Washington Square Review out of NYU.

    Jaime Ro
    bles's recent books include the artist's book Loup d'Oulipo and
    the poetry chapbook Appropriated Love (Woodland Editions). She also
    wrote the libretto for the chamber opera Diary. She is currently the
    editor and publisher of Five Fingers Review and teaches in the Writing
    & Consciousness Program at New College of California, San Francisco.
